How to fake a "Before and After" photograph.
These photos were taken just two hours apart, and have not been digitally
retouched in any way. They're for a story I I read that exposes how Before &
After photos can be faked. You can read the whole
Las Vegas Weekly Story if you are interested.
...but here is my summary of the quick tips:


Trick No. 1: Suck in your stomach
If you exhale and suck in your stomach, you’re going to look thinner. This is
particularly true for men, who store a lot of their body fat around their
bellies. Remember to inhale and push out your stomach when you take your
“before” photo.
Trick No. 2: Flex your muscles
Take a page from the professional bodybuilders’ competition-pose playbook;
you’ll look stronger and more muscular if you flex your muscles. Be careful not
to flex your muscles in your “before” shot, though.
Trick No. 3: Pump it up
Lift some weights immediately before you snap your “after” photo. Like flexing,
anaerobic exercise will temporarily increase the size of your muscles.
Trick No. 4: Fix your posture
If you stand up straight and roll back your shoulders, your chest will stick out
more, and your waist will look smaller by comparison. So find a mirror, and
align your ears, shoulders and hips.
Trick No. 5: Fix your face
A smile is your best bet. A smile won’t make you look thinner or more muscular,
but it will imply that you’re enjoying your new healthy lifestyle (your Sunday
afternoons playing flag football at the park, your six-pack-bearing weekends on
exotic ports of call …). And don’t grimace in your “before” photo—that’d be too
obvious. Instead, go for a blank expression or one indicating slight depression.
Trick No. 6: Shave and bronze
Removing your body hair and tanning will better showcase your muscle definition.
Trick No. 7: Get a mini-makeover
Put on some better-fitting clothes, fix your hair and slap on some
foundation. Take a look at the how putting on Make

I hate to be the one to break this
to you: But you know those diet pill infomercials
they show at 3am with all the amazing “before and
after” photos? Yeah, those are all Photoshoped. I know, I
know. You are not shocked. If you are interested

Now it seems there is a also company
who will Shop your very own “before and after” "diet
photos" for you! The company is called
See Yourself Slimmer, and they claim they are in
the business to give folks “slimming aids” – photos
folks can use as inspiration to loose their weight.
Supposedly, you get the photo done and tape it to
your fridge for inspiration to not eat. I think for
me it would have the reverse effect: “Hey look how
awesome I look! One more cookie won’t hurt! Besides,
I can just post this pic of myself online and
this is what people will think I really look like.”

will also do a host of other photo fixes like
Shopping out any wrinkles, age spots and bags under
your eyes. I suppose that would be used as
inspiration to save for your facelift?
My Brother works for Hewlett Packard who has added a feature to
its cameras that allows you to make a centered subject appear thinner.

Clearly this isn’t new its a feature that
video cameras have had for years. This effect is just a simple
to do on a computer using I used Don’t waste your money on
cameras that say they will make you look thinner.
It’s something that Photoshop experts have been doing for a long
time. I thought I would try it out myself and see if I could
create a slimmer version of my Before Pictures.

Using Photoshop or Paint, its its easy to
create the “after” photo by changing the image size without
constraining the proportions. You can tell because the fish
above the woman's head is much “thinner” than it was before. The
photo trick makes the "before" photo look a little thinner, but
it does nothing for her lumpy parts. I think probably that’s why
HP used models that didn’t really need slimming in their example
pages. Sure, it can make you look a little less wide, but it
can’t shave off the soft and bumpy bits. Try
Windows Live Photo Gallery for simple photo editing. The
free, downloadable software allows you to perform basic photo
edits such as adjusting your picture's exposure and color,
straightening and cropping your image, removing red-eye, and
more.
Adobe Photoshop software offers additional tools for more
advanced restoration, like repairing photos with torn or missing
pieces, or editing specific sections of your image. In the end,
there is no software that can make you look better. You have to
do the work to look better. I have never had a better photo
taken of me than the quick clicks of friends when I am healthy
and strong. Getting thin is free, all you have to do is put in
the effort.
All these people slimmed down and got
incredible results. They transformed their bodies the way they
wanted. It is good to see that there are lots of motivated
people with a strong will who want to do something about their
appearance when they aren’t happy about it. Here’s a big
